This year's Celebrate Hardeeville had a very special air of excitement about it whether you were a young person or old. Hardeeville, as you all know by now, is moving quickly to position itself as the next logical community to grow in education, business, and population. During the past month the City Council and community broke ground for the new City Hall and Community Campus on Main Street, less than a quarter mile east of the present city hall. We also celebrated the beginning of construction of the New River Campus of the University of South Carolina, the groundbreaking and land clearing for the new Coastal Carolina Medical Center, the nearing completion of the mega watt electrical generation plant, the laying of the new industrial support gas pipe line, the new Jasper County Detention Center, not to mention the many new businesses building, buying, and opening in Hardeeville and Jasper County. Truly this year's Celebrate Hardeeville was just that, a celebration of the awakening of the prettiest part of the Lowcountry ready, able, and generously opening its' community and people to tomorrow. Did I forget to mention that this year's Celebrate Hardeeville was also to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of The Greater Hardeeville Chamber of Commerce? Well we did, and your Chamber of Commerce is ready and willing to assist all who wish to come to our community to bring business, education, and great people to Hardeeville and Jasper Country. We are your "Gateway to the Lowcountry", and proud to be just that. Enjoy pictures of the day's festivities, and next year, plan on being a part of it.
